U-Pick is going drive-thru during COVID-19

The 2021 Apple and Pear U-Pick Season is now open, with a pre-paid, drive-thru set-up. Unfortunately, we won’t be able to offer apple and pear picking in the orchard, tours to see the animals, or bathroom facilities.

We expect to have drive-thru u-picks on most Sundays through the end of the apple season, in late October or early November. We’ll announce additional dates as the apples ripen.

Customers will order and pay for their farm items on-line ahead of time, and then drive into the ranch to pick them up.

While we had all hoped to be back in the orchard this year, we’re looking forward to seeing all our customers!

Picking Up Your Items

When you drive out to the ranch, you’ll pick up your prepaid items in a safe way. We’ll send an email with the hour you can drive through to pick up on the date you’ve selected.

Drive in and stop in front of the horse barn, where masked volunteers will ask for your name, and then place your prepaid products on the table for you to load into your car. You can also purchase other items available on-site, such as cuts of beef and lamb, honey, and delicious baked goods (see list to the right).

We will all miss our carefree Fall U-Pick Days, but we trust they will be back next year. In the meantime, we hope you will come out to see us, offer a brief “hello,” and take home some delicious farm items for your family.

Pricing and Ordering

Apples & Pears

Apples and pears are sold in 10 lb bags. Each bag is $20.00.

• Apples
  You may order as many bags of apples as you wish. Apples will be a mix of what’s ripe at the time:
  • September 19 and 26: Mutzu, orin, pinova
• Pears
  Pears: limit of one bag per order.

Ground Beef

Ground beef is sold in 1 lb. packages with a minimum of five lbs for $40.00. You may buy as much ground beef as you wish. Please prepay on PayPal at chilenobeef@gmail.com. Be sure to indicate in the comment field which date you’ll be picking up.

To purchase a quarter, half or whole animal, please see our beef page. The total cost for a quarter of beef is around $550 and includes more than 100 lbs of various cuts.

Available for On-Site Purchase

We’ll have various cuts of beef and lamb available for purchase on-site. Please bring cash or checks and a cooler if you wish to buy our delicious, grass-fed meat.

Honey from Bloomfield Bees will be available again this year for on-site purchase. $20/jar, cash or check accepted.
